Job Summary: The Recreational Vehicle (RV) Detailer/Wash Bay Technician is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and maintaining the exterior and interior of RVs to ensure they are in top condition for customers. This role involves washing and detailing RVs, applying protective coatings, performing minor interior cleaning tasks, and ensuring that all vehicles meet company standards for cleanliness and presentation. The technician will also maintain the wash bay area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

Key Responsibilities:
- RV Diagnosis & Repair:
- Diagnose and repair issues with RV mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot problems related to engines, brakes, suspension, drivetrain, appliances, and more.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on RVs.
- Replace or repair damaged components, including wiring, switches, and mechanical parts.
- Electrical Systems:
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues within RVs, including lighting, wiring, and battery systems.
- Maintain or install power inverters, generators, and solar power systems.
- Ensure the proper functioning of RV's shore power connections, 12V systems, and converters.
- Plumbing & HVAC Systems:
- Repair or replace plumbing components, such as water pumps, tanks, pipes, faucets, and toilets.
- Diagnose and repair issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Install and maintain RV water heaters, fresh and gray water systems, and sewage handling systems.
- Appliance & Equipment Repair:
- Service and repair RV appliances including refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, and air conditioners.
- Test and calibrate RV appliances to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
- Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their concerns and provide accurate estimates for repairs and maintenance.
- Offer guidance to customers on the proper care and maintenance of their RVs to prevent future issues.
- Provide recommendations for upgrades or additional services based on customer needs.
- Maintenance & Quality Control:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on customer vehicles to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance comply with industry standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
- Keep detailed records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked.
- Safety & Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, using proper tools, equipment, and personal protective gear.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials, such as fluids and parts, according to safety regulations.
- Proven experience as an RV technician or similar role (2 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in RVs.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair guides.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor.
- Certification in RV repair, or related technical certifications (e.g., RVDA, ASE, or other industry-recognized credentials).
- Experience with solar power systems, generators, and other advanced RV technologies.
- Customer service experience in an automotive or RV service setting.
- Full-time position with occasional overtime required, especially during peak seasons.
- Work is typically performed in an indoor or outdoor workshop environment.
- Exposure to various weather conditions and physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces.

- Interior Cleaning & Detailing:
- Vacuum and clean carpets, upholstery, and floors inside the RV.
- Wipe down and sanitize surfaces such as countertops, tables, and kitchen areas.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and cabinetry.
- Clean and disinfect bathroom areas, including sinks, showers, and toilets.
- Perform deep cleaning on appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, and microwaves.
- Minor Repairs & Maintenance:
- Report any damages or mechanical issues found during the cleaning process to the service team.
- Perform minor touch-ups, such as cleaning or polishing scratched or damaged areas.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and compartments are clean and functioning properly.
- Wash Bay & Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the wash bay area.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment, such as pressure washers, vacuums, and cleaning tools, are in good working order.
- Ensure the proper disposal of wastewater, chemicals, and cleaning supplies in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Customer Interaction & Satisfaction:
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
- Ensure that all RVs are cleaned to the highest standards to meet customer expectations and company quality standards.
- Safety & Cleanliness:
- Adhere to all safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools.
- Follow all company policies related to safe handling of chemicals and materials.
- Keep the wash bay area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required to ensure safety while working.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Keep accurate records of services performed, including any special requests or additional tasks completed.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor for repair or replacement.
- No minimum education required.
- Previous experience in vehicle detailing, car washing, house cleaning or RV detailing is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and methods used in RV detailing.
- Ability to handle and use cleaning chemicals and tools safely.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks, including bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record may be required for moving RVs within the facility.
- Experience working with RVs, semi trucks or larger vehicles.
- Knowledge of specialized RV cleaning and detailing techniques, such as waxing, sealant application, or interior conditioning.
- Certification in vehicle detailing or related fields.
- Full-time position, with some flexibility in work hours, especially during peak seasons.
- Work is performed in an outdoor or covered wash bay environment, with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Some tasks may require working with chemicals or cleaning agents, so proper safety precautions must be followed.
