Overview
We are seeking an experienced (will train if you have less experience) Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects (renovations) from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of construction management, and the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Duties
- Supervise daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using tools such as Primavera for effective project management.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial accountability throughout the construction process.
- Utilize Bluebeam for document management and collaboration among team members.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Implement corrective actions as needed to address any issues that arise during the construction process.
- Prepare reports on project status, including updates on scheduling, budgeting, and any potential risks or delays.
- Train and mentor junior staff members in construction practices and site management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction management or a similar supervisory role within the industry.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera and Prolog.
- Strong understanding of budgeting principles related to construction projects.
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment; knowledge of using an ohmmeter is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
