Seeking a permanent litigation legal assistant for a general litigation paralegal, working for an established downtown Richmond law firm that specializes in multiple litigation and business areas. Firm practices in business transactions, corporate matters and real estate transactions, employment counseling and litigation, civil litigation, bankruptcy, administrative law, elder law, estate planning, and family formation.
The ideal candidate will have litigation experience working and managing case files and be familiar with federal and state court systems. The ideal candidate will have experience relevant to an
- Active federal and state court practice involves defending personal injury cases, representing insurance companies and their policyholders, business disputes, appellate litigation, and more.
- Experience should include obtaining medical records and summarizing, scheduling trial deadlines, drafting and issuing litigation documents, including pleadings, motions practice, and discovery.
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized, have a good attitude, work ethic and attention to detail. Strong verbal and accurate written communication skills are essential for this position.
- Must have college degree and/or paralegal certificate and references. This position deals with a high volume of work.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate well in a team with other paralegals and attorneys in the firm opposing counsel.
- Case management system experience preferred.
