Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Physician-Led Research Programs Summer Intern to join our Research department. This position is a part-time, 20 hours per week, internship, based out of our regional office located in Washington D.C. with a hybrid work model . Please note, this position is ineligible for benefits. The summer internship program runs for about 12 weeks with a start date of June 4, 2025, and end date of August 15, 2025. Reporting to the M anager of Physician-Led Research Programs , the Physician-Led Research Programs Summer Intern will support research initiatives at the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI) . You will gain hands-on experience in healthcare research within the Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States system, with opportunities to learn about healthcare delivery, project management, strategic planning, and research operations while assisting with physician-led research and educational initiatives. This internship enables you to work on impactful projects in a professional environment, while developing critical skills in real world health system activities and operations.
You can expect to :
- Collaborate with research scientists, physician researchers, leadership, and Community Advisory Board members to support key research programs such as the Physician Research Scholars Program, Accelerated Clinical Insights Program, and the Johns Hopkins Medicine / Kaiser Permanente Research Collaboration
- Receive comprehensive training in human subjects research and obtain CITI certification
- Participate in research study team meetings and support the implementation of study activities
- Actively track and triage physician requests for research and scholarly activities assistance
- Assist in research study outcomes collection activities with grant recipients
- Provide support with Physician-Led Program events such as Lunch and Learn webinars
What is required :
The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00, which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
