Plant Manager

We are seeking a Plant Manager to oversee operations at our Milwaukee facility. This role includes managing key functions related to health and safety, production operations, employee development, and controlling operating expenses.

Health & Safety:

• Ensure all employees adhere to health and safety programs.
• Promote safe work practices and participate in safety meetings.
• Advise employees on non-conforming conditions to meet safety goals.

Operations Management:

• Monitor production levels to meet customer demands with adequate lead times.
• Oversee production schedules to ensure on-time delivery and production efficiencies.
• Control labor costs, material usage, and scrap rates to optimize operating expenses.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure effective maintenance planning and budget adherence.

Employee Development & Discipline:

• Supervise production supervisors and plant engineering staff.
• Support Human Resources in addressing training needs and compliance with union agreements.
• Lead the hiring, training, and performance evaluation processes.
• Address employee concerns and resolve operational issues promptly.

Capital Expenditure & Efficiency Improvements:

• Develop capital expenditure requests for improvements to enhance operational efficiencies.
• Project a professional image to employees, customers, and the community.
  

• Education: Associate degree or higher (required).
• Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of management experience in a metal casting or foundry environment.
• Skills/Abilities:
• Strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and cost management.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage personnel, motivate teams, and develop employees.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
  

• 2 or more years of college education.
• Previous experience in foundry management.
  

• Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, sit, and use hands.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in environments with moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Exposure to loud noise levels.
  

• This position involves working in conditions that may include wet, humid environments and exposure to mechanical parts, chemicals, and fumes.
• Travel may be required for work-related purposes.
