Working Title : Accounting Associate II Program : Finance Report to : Finance Director Pay Range : $21.25-25.82 / hour Location : On-site, The Dalles, Oregon (Subject to work in Hood River, Wasco, and Sherman County) Hours / FTE : M - F 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm , 1 FTE (37.5 hours) FSLA Status : Non-Exempt The Accounting Associate II supports the Finance department to provide a variety of technical support functions to the department. This position is primarily responsible for the accounts payable function within the organization, ensuring that payments are timely, accurate, and processed within department standards and protocols. The Accounting Associate II exercises judgment and autonomy within the scope of the position and performs any non-routine transactions and deviations at the discretion of the Finance Director. Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that specializes in providing services that are both trauma-informed and recovery-oriented to persons / consumers with mental illness and addictions. Trauma-informed care includes safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, cultural responsivity, and empowerment for both clients and staff. MCCFL serves Hood River, Wasco and Sherman Counties and utilizes a consumer-involved, consumer-engaged and consumer-driven model. MCCFL provides a whole-person care approach to adults and children to address both physical and mental health needs. MCCFL offers a variety of programs including a mobile crisis unit, intensive case management, ongoing counseling, community support, supported employment, jail diversion, hospital discharges, hearings and more. What you'll need : Any combination of education, licensure, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the position’s essential responsibilities. This includes : Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field. Two (02) years of technical accounting and / or bookkeeping experience that includes accounts payables and any of the following : accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank account reconciliation. Must possess a valid Oregon or Washington Driver’s license for infrequent local travel between locations and to attend required meetings and / or trainings or possess an alternate means of reliable transportation. Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 407-007-0200 to 407-007-0370. What you’ll do : Process accounts payable tasks. Receive and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system for future payment. Review supporting payment documentation for proper authorization and conformance to MCCFL accounts payable requirements. Enter payments into the accounting system. Prepare checks for signature and payment as authorized; generate supporting backups; receive signed checks; submit payments to vendors. Maintain accounts payable files, records and reports; generate reports as requested. Assist staff with accounts payable processes; answer questions; work with vendors to resolve issues related to billing and payments. Process mileage and expense reimbursement checks in accordance with department procedures; prepare checks for signature; maintain associated records. Ensure that signature authority is adequate in accordance with MCCFL requirements. When required expense / request documentation not sufficient, return documents to initiator for further approval. Post and reconcile accounts payable transactions in the general ledger. Enter a variety of other financial data into electronic financial system; perform a variety of other data entry and financial transaction tasks as assigned. Reconcile General Ledger (GL) activity in balance account spreadsheets; enter and reconcile miscellaneous cash journal entries. Perform general research and reporting activities in a support role within the department. Provide general assistance to the department in preparing for audits and performing other support functions . Delivered Service Program efficacy and in program quality improvement activities.
