The Ophthalmic Tester assist in the smooth operation of an ophthalmology practice. Perform basic, advanced and complex diagnostic tests to assist the physician; all to be handled accurately, quickly, and courteously. Must be well organized and have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, have excellent computer skills, communicate effectively with patients, physicians and other staff members. Must be flexible in work assignments and schedule; demonstrate commitment to ongoing education and upgrading of skills.
Responsibilities
- Follow testing protocols
- Ensure all testing equipment is archived/backed up daily/weekly
- Assist physician with testing needs/requests
- Maintain supplies
- Check emails daily
- Report physician request changes to on-site supervisor
- Adhere to the weekly schedule prepared by the Clinic Manager
- Be at work and on time
- Report to lead Testing staff member when: Testing equipment is malfunctioning, Runtime errors occur, perform “screen shots” report to on-site supervisor. Report to Angie any interpretation list or inter-operation pick list changes.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GEDDetail orientated, enjoy working with the public and possess exceptional customer service skills. Must become CMSScertified.
- Comprehension of the ophthalmic assistant skills as outlined by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) preferred.
