About the Position
We are seeking an experienced instructor to teach courses in advanced manufacturing, including PLC Technologies, Fluid Power, Hydraulics, Mechanical Controls, AC/DC, and Blueprint Reading. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop and deliver engaging course content.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classroom courses in advanced manufacturing disciplines
- Develop and update syllabi for courses assigned, ensuring alignment with college and accreditation requirements
- Assess student academic achievement and provide timely feedback on progress
- Maintain accurate classroom records, including attendance and grades
- Hold office hours for meeting with and assisting students
- Communicate effectively with full-time and adjunct faculty, as well as library and learning services staff
- Attend and participate in departmental and college-wide meetings, serving on committees as needed
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or a related field (Journeyman's Card preferred)
- Minimum of 4,000 hours of work experience in manufacturing or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of teaching experience or 4,000 hours of professional work experience in manufacturing
Working Environment
You will be working in a normal classroom and/or laboratory environment with occasional evening classes at our Harrison Campus. You may also be required to travel to other campus locations.
