Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate ICD-10 codes to medical services and procedures
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in medical billing or related field preferred
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred
- Proficient in ICD-10 coding systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with insurance billing processes and reimbursement guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
