JOB SUMMARY
The Global Exchange Academy (GlobalX) is seeking Supervisors for our Summer Programs and Camps. Supervisors will provide daily supervision for students in Preschool through Grade 5 while ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Under the supervision of the GlobalX Coordinator and Innovations Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of students in their designated class and/or grade level. Position Details
- Program Duration: Up to 8 weeks (dates may vary)
- Work Hours: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 5:30 PM (hours may vary)
- Orientation: Mandatory in-person session
- Compensation: $15.00/Hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support Summer Programs and/or Pueo Camps.
- Provide programmatic support to GlobalX Coordinator/Manager/Director.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with diverse groups of young people and adults of various cultural backgrounds.
- Enforce school rules and behavioral expectations.
- Leads students through various engaging activities.
- Create a safe, engaging and supportive atmosphere for students.
- Supervise students while walking them to and from their classes located away from the Elementary School Campus.
- Ensures the health and safety of students at all times.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Innovations Manager or GlobalX Coordinator, such as planning activities.
SCHOOL SAFETY
- Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.
- Comply with the instructions given for their own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures.
- Take reasonable care to ensure their own safety and health and that of others.
- Report any injury, hazard or illness immediately to their Supervisor and Human Resources.
- Not place others at risk by any act or omission, not willfully or recklessly interfere with safety equipment.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors.
- Identify, assess if necessary, and control hazards within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that equipment/supplies are properly maintained.
- Maintain relevant knowledge of safety laws.
- Mandatory reporting of sexual abuse to law enforcement or child protective services, and Human Resources. Sexual abuse includes child molestation, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with a minor, and serial sexual misconduct, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with more than one victim; and committed by or alleged to have been committed by any perpetrator who is not a student of an included entity.

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements
- Completed High School Diploma or 1-2 years of experience volunteering in Mid-Pacifics GlobalX Programs.
- Prior experience working with children in Elementary School preferred.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in a school environment.
- Experience working with students of all ages.
- Strong verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position requires up to 8 weeks of work during the Summer Programs (dates may vary by course). Work hours are typically Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 5:30 PM (hours may vary by course).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The individual is required to talk and hear, often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee may be required to stand, walk, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl. Requires close vision.
MENTAL DEMANDS
On a daily basis, must frequently problem solve, make decisions, interpret data, organize, speak, write, plan, and clearly communicate.
