What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pump Mechanic position at Mid-State Industrial Maintenance?
As a pump mechanic you will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, reworking, and disassembling various style pumps.
Essential Duties
- Disassembles and inspects pumping equipment to determine repair requirements. Includes Slurry pumps, Multi-stage split case pumps, Vertical turbine pumps, Overhung Horizontal pumps, etc.
- Fills out inspection and other various reports.
- Using various pneumatic tools, hand tools, acetylene torch, drill press and surface grinder required to disassemble and assemble pumps.
- Ability to read micrometers and measuring equipment.
- Ensures that required equipment and tools are functioning properly.
- Performs routine maintenance on machinery and test equipment.
- Performs housekeeping tasks as required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must have own basic hand tools
- Must adhere and follow company Safety rules.
- Ability to drive fork lifts and operate overhead cranes in a safe manner.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment
- Location is initially in Bartow, Florida.
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday - Sunday) and overtime is frequently required.
- Working environment is in an industrial shop; non-climate controlled and is often times hot / humid. Frequent exposure to moving equipment, machines and shop tools, and other safety-sensitive hazards / risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.
- While performing the duties of this job, you will:
