What are the responsibilities and job description for the BILLING SPECIALIST (AR) position at Mid-State Orthopaedic and Sports Medicin?
Job Duties:
- Document all actions taken in notes on patient accounts.
- Work denied claims and file appeals as needed.
- Research unpaid insurance claims for payment and/or payment tracking.
- Take necessary action, if needed, to correct insurance and re-bill claims.
- Investigate and correct posting errors.
- Provide back-up for the Collection Account Representative.
- Communicate appropriately with insurance representatives, employees, managers, and providers.
- Perform tasks as assigned by the Revenue Cycle Manager for cohesive teamwork
Experience
Preferred- 2 years medical billing experience preferred but not required.
Education
Required- High School or better
