This is a multi-level posting. Candidates may be considered for any of the posted levels, depending on their level of experience and depth of expertise.
This position is responsible for participating on and supporting the BHE IT functional leadership team in all aspects of its managing process and oversees all financial aspects of the global information technology operations (~$500m annual in combined operating and capital expenditures) including proactively identifying and solving all accounting, treasury, legal and regulatory issues in the normal course, working with the appropriate cross-functional, cross-platform personnel as needed. Global responsibility for all IT general accounting operations including the development and enforcement of all IT accounting policies and procedures, IT forecasting and budgeting, monthly reporting and financial analysis, and support of internal and external benchmarking. Lead the development and ongoing oversight of a project portfolio management prioritization process and related individual project tracking, reporting and analysis process. Support IT software, hardware and equipment acquisition and licensing negotiations and business case development as required. Direct the annual planning and monthly forecasting processes for the IT technology area across the company.
Direct and monitor all monthly transactional IT general accounting operations and processing ensuring consistent cross-platform general ledger coding and accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis. [25%]
Provide support to the IT project portfolio management prioritization process and related individual project tracking, reporting and analysis process. [20%]
The development and enforcement of all IT accounting policies and procedures, including all intercompany billing allocation processes and methodologies consistent with the existing IASA agreement. [5%]
Direct the annual business and financial planning and monthly forecasting processes for IT and provide affiliate transparency throughout the process. [25%]
Support IT software, hardware and equipment acquisitions and licensing negotiations, including pricing and key terms development, and lead the delivery of the business case development as required. [5%]
Proactively identify and resolve all accounting, treasury, legal and regulatory issues in the normal course and working with appropriate company-wide personnel. [10%]
Manage a team of IT-dedicated accountants and analysts. [10%]
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field. (Typically, four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.)
MBA, CPA, or advanced degree in accounting, finance, or information systems preferred.
Six years of progressive accounting and financial planning, reporting and analysis and/or IT functional management experience, including at least three years of supervisory/management responsibilities for the manager level.
Eight years of progressive accounting and financial planning, reporting and analysis and/or IT functional management experience, including at least three years of supervisory/management responsibilities for the director level.
Must have a broad understanding and experience in the field of information technology business management combined with financial, accounting, decision-support, financial analysis and reporting capabilities.
Functional knowledge of ERP and/or accounting system knowledge preferred.
Effective communication, leadership and influencing skills are a prerequisite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Project management skills; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
