Contract Duration: April 14, 2025 – July 12, 2025
Schedule: Day Shift | 8-hour shifts
Payrate: $1,640.00 a week
Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Summary:
Hampstead Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a pediatric psychiatric setting. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care, establish therapeutic relationships, and contribute to maintaining a supportive environment for young patients.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with pediatric psychiatric patients.
✔ Provide individual and group counseling to support emotional and behavioral well-being.
✔ Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
✔ Monitor patient progress and document behavioral observations.
✔ Maintain a safe and structured therapeutic environment.
✔ Support patients in developing coping strategies and social skills.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling.
Pediatric experience is required.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications related to mental health or counseling.
Strong background in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
Work Setting:
Inpatient psychiatric facility
Clinic/Office-based therapy sessions
