Position Summary:

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting, ensuring that the organization’s financial health is monitored, and that accurate financial data is available to management that provides insights into strategic decision-making.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare, manage, and analyze budgets for departments and the entire organization
• Develop and maintain financial forecasts, providing insights into variances between actual performance and projections
• Collaborate with various business units to understand drivers of financial performance and adjust forecasts accordingly
• Perform variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and forecast, and explain discrepancies
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions
• Monitor and analyze key financial metrics and KPIs (e.g., revenue, cost, profit margins, cash flow)
• Build and maintain complex financial models to support business initiatives, including new projects, investments, or acquisitions
• Evaluate the financial impact of business decisions, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI assessments
• Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting trends, financial risks, and opportunities
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and analysis
• Support long-term strategic planning processes by providing financial data and forecasts
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis efficiency
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, sales, and supply chain, to gather data and understand business performance
• Ad hoc reporting as needed

Knowledge

• Policies, practices, and procedures of PowerStream Dynamis/MidCentral Energy
• Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures and guidelines, as well as safety practices in the industry
• Financial statements and financial metrics
• Forecasting software or Business Intelligence (BI) tools
• Principles of customer service

Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and financial software
• Strong understanding of product development processes and lifecycle management
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong leadership skills
• Communication and presentation skills to articulate financial data clearly to management
• Excellent organizational skills and time management
