Job Summary
Student dispatcher responsibilities primarily include data entry, refueling aircraft and fuel trucks, clerical work, as well as assisting dispatchers and line service personnel.
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical or data entry tasks and file essential documents accordingly.
- upport the front office staff, covering the reception area as needed.
- Maintain all work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Maintain their academic workload while handling a work-study job opportunity.
- Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Ability to work independently, retain necessary knowledge, and follow operating procedures and protocols.
- Familiar with MGA Standard Operating Procedures, Restrictions, and Emergency Operations.
- Ability to safely work on the Aviation Tarmac around vehicles, fuel trucks, and airplanes.
- Must be dependable and prompt and adhere to an assigned schedule.
- Must adhere to the code of confidentiality.
- Be cordial to all students, staff, faculty, and visitors entering the Aviation campus.
- Assists Flight Department and Line Personnel as necessary.
- Assists Dispatch Personnel as necessary.
- Answers the telephone, directs calls appropriately and takes accurate messages.
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle check and maintain safety training and practices for annual TSA Safety Requirements, fuel truck safety, and golf cart safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Be currently enrolled at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 hours
- Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver¿s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- A student worker must know about computers and different software programs.
- Any prior job experience in an office environment is helpful but unnecessary.
- Students are required to maintain confidentiality under the Family Education Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA).
