Flight Dispatcher (Eastman Campus)

Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. Its enrollment of 8,000 students is largely comprised of students from most of Georgia's 159 counties. The University has six academic schools, including Georgia's flagship aviation university, that support its mission to educate and graduate inspired, lifelong learners whose scholarship and careers enhance the state.

This position is responsible for managing flight schedules and dispatching aircrafts.

Duty 1 -
Manages scheduling software (e.g. My Flight Train).

Duty 2 -
Dispatches aircraft to instructors and students.

Duty 3 -
Audits reports for flight department.

Duty 4 -
Handles fueling for aircraft.

Duty 5 -
Maintains safe operations including practice areas.

Duty 6 -
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent credits from an accredited institution required

Other Required Qualifications
Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekend shifts as required.

Preferred Educational Requirements
Bachelor¿s degree preferred

Preferred Experience
A background in aviation or experience managing an operation schedule is not necessary, but recommended.

Knowledge of scheduling software: My Flight Train
Knowledge of how to safely dispatch aircraft
Knowledge of how to pull and interpret audits for flight department
Skill to operate general computer programs.
Skill to make timely decisions.
