The position of Clinician I SUD Y&F responsible for:
- Provides direct substance use disorder therapeutic services to individuals identified as in need of services through the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessment. Population served includes those with co-occurring mental health diagnoses and/or developmentally disability.
- Provide psycho-educational, motivational, and supportive group sessions to individuals admitted to substance use disorder services. Employs best-practices in the development and delivery of all substance use disorder program services.
- Develop and implement assessment-based, individualized treatment plans for individuals served, to include quarterly reviews and individual satisfaction with services, to promote the individualized recovery process.
- Maintain familiarity with all Substance Use Disorder and Recovery services provided by MPNN CSB, and those provided by community partners, to ensure appropriate referrals for additional or alternate services needed by the individual.
- Complete required assessments in a timely manner and as aligned with education, training and credential capabilities. Refers individuals to qualified professionals for additional assessments as determined.
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all individuals’ personal information and clinical records to ensure compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations, and in accordance with MPNN CSB policies.
- Participate in legal proceedings as summonsed, or required by law, while maintaining adherence to 42 CFR
- Maintain timely, thorough, and accurate clinical documentation for all services as required by DBHDS and payor requirements.
- Complete all applicable initial and annual trainings as required by MPNN CSB and as assigned during the course of employment; maintain current CPR/First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications, utilizing approved techniques during emergency situations.
- Maintain adherence to all applicable MPNN CSB organizational policies, DBHDS requirements, state and federal laws during service provision.
- Maintain adherence to the policies of each location assigned, i.e. GCC, ECC, correctional facilities/jail diversion, etc.
- Will function on a part time basis in local correctional facilities providing educational/motivational groups, completing mental health screenings and symptom specific screenings, assist in linking inmates with services within the correctional facility/jail and with discharge resources as they are released.
- Clinicians assigned to the Jail Diversion program are required to perform additional activities which include, but are not limited to, case management, direct support for personal and community resource development, and DBHDS coordination for review of expenses and data.
- Participate in all required clinical and supervisory meetings to include staffing and informal/formal supervision; maintain positive communication with assigned supervisor for questions, updates and support as needed.
- Exercise considerable initiative and judgement in all aspects of service provision and exercise tact and courtesy with individuals served, families, the public, and all MPNN employees
- Completes additional duties as assigned to support the Substance Use Disorder program.
