What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Intensive In-Home Counselor-Youth & Family Services position at Middle Peninsula Northern Neck Community Services Board Inc?
Under general supervision, employee is responsible for providing counseling/crisis intervention/case management services, as part of a system of family preservation and support services, to those children and adolescents who may be at risk to themselves or others, or who may be at risk of hospitalization or other restrictive placement due to mental illness and/or severe behavioral problems and their families. Counseling/crisis intervention/case management services include client identification, assessment, planning, implementing and monitoring service plans for the purpose of facilitating lasting improvements in mental, emotional, and behavioral functioning, and advocacy and resource development. Employee provides crisis intervention and family preservation services on an intensive schedule determined by client need. Employee must exercise considerable initiative and judgment in the effective and efficient administration of departmental programs. Employee must also exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, clients, families, public, and service providers.
