About the Role
The position of Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing personalized support and care to individuals with unique needs. Your duties will include:
- Building strong relationships with individuals and their families based on trust, respect, and dignity
- Encouraging independence and autonomy while ensuring safety and well-being
- Assisting with daily living skills such as grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, and more
- Planning and implementing direct support activities to promote greater self-sufficiency
- Administering medication and monitoring individual's self-administration of medications
You'll work closely with our team to develop and implement Individual Support Plans that prioritize each individual's goals and objectives. Your expertise in intervention techniques and crisis management will be invaluable in supporting individuals during challenging circumstances.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess a valid Virginia Driver's License, a background check, and certification in CPR, First Aid, Medication Management, and Medicaid Waiver DSP Competencies and Home Based Services.
