DEPARTMENT: The Office of Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Associate Director, Human Resources
- Under general direction, performs a full range of administrative support assignments for the department.
- Acts as receptionist and first point of contact for the Office of Human Resources.
- Processes all onboarding actions for all adjuncts and non-paid faculty and staff. This includes entering them in ADP Workforce Now.
- Maintains departmental and employee personnel files, and performs filing tasks on a regular basis.
- Processes and maintains all actions related to unemployment inquiries and tasks requiring HR actions.
- Processes employee eligibility verification via I-9’s and E-Verify.
- Assists HR staff with procedural tasks such as employee background checks and distribution of offer letters.
- Processes all employment verifications and public service loan forgiveness forms (PSLF).
- Provides employees and department members with information and directs them to appropriate resources.
- Creates employee ID Badges and other HR office actions.
- Arranges, participates in, and implements meeting and conferences as directed.
- Performs ad hoc HR project actions on an as needed basis, i.e., data retrieval for departments and NJ State Pensions and Benefits (NJDPB) and other agencies as needed.
- Assists HR Administrator with the completion of the monthly HR resolutions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience working in a Human Resources function
- Three years of work experience in a busy office setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, ADP Workforce Now
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to deal effectively and positively with a variety of employees
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to plan and perform a variety of simultaneous projects
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
SCHEDULE: Part-time position, 20 hours per week (Tuesday-Friday work schedule) Hours are indicated below.
Tuesday – Thursday (12:00 pm- 4:30 pm); and Friday hours of 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Work schedule is subject to change based upon the business and operational needs of the department/unit.
No medical benefits and no PTO except NJ Earned Sick Leave.
