About the Role
">The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team at Middlesex Health. Under the direction of the Practice Manager, this individual performs various clinical duties and assists Providers to ensure timely and effective patient care.
">Responsibilities
">- Clinical Duties: Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients to verify reason for visit, obtain medical information, measure vital signs, and document all patient information in the Electronic Health Record. ">
- Assist Providers with patient exams and procedures as directed. ">
- Perform phlebotomy, collect blood and other specimens, label and prepare them for delivery to the lab, and document these procedures in the EHR. ">
Minimum Qualifications
">- High School Diploma or Equivalent ">
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medications ">
- Excellent customer service and communication skills ">
Preferred Qualifications
">- 1 year experience working with electronic health records ">
- 1 year office-based physician practice experience ">
- Medical Assisting Certification ">
