Middleton Farmers Cooperative is hiring a full-time feed mill attendant to work in the feed mill manufacturing animal feed and servicing customers in feed, through a variety of day-to-day operations in a safe and timely manner. Employee will strive to perform duties in a way that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.

Position is primarily hourly, with occasional weekend or after hour duties as necessary to fulfill customer orders. Primary business hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM - 4 PM. Full time employees are expected to average 40-45 hours per week; part time employees fulfill hours agreed upon at hire.

Administrative Duties

  • Develop good employee and customer relationships
  • Communicate effectively with all employees and customers
  • As needed, answer phone calls, providing counter sales and customer service
  • Perform truck scale and ingredient receiving duties

Operational Duties

  • Recommend repairs and improvements to the Feed Division Manager
  • Operates all machinery and equipment as required
  • Daily housekeeping to maintain a safe environment for employees and customers
  • Loading, unloading, and sorting inventory
  • Routine equipment maintenance such as greasing, cleaning magnets, etc.
  • Load trucks with bagged and bulk feed
  • Unload trucks with ingredients, bagged and bulk feed
  • Assist customers picking up bagged and bulk feeds
  • Accurately pull and prepare hand-add ingredients
  • Accurately weigh and mix bulk ingredients
  • Bag feed and ingredients
  • Clean warehouse and mill
  • Maintenance of equipment (lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs)
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any safety issues to management
  • Assist other company departments as needed

Reporting

  • Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions
  • Report any needed repairs or special maintenance

Safety and Compliance

  • Uphold cooperative policies
  • Follow and comply with all laws and regulations both State and Federal
  • Participate in annual employee safety meetings as required with Quality & Safety contractor

Other Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Collaboratively work with location, departmental personnel
  • Attitude consistently mirrors the company image and promotes fellow employee teamwork
  • Present a professional image through words, actions, and personal appearance

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders and operate equipment safely
  • Have an understanding of animal care and agriculture
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good attention to detail
  • Detail oriented to provide accurate and consistent work with or without direction
  • Ability to work late or on weekends as needed
  • Excellent customer service skills

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is able to work in cold and hot environmental conditions (Wisconsin weather), and in dusty environments. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
