Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Prepares kitchen areas for daily operation, rotates food according to safety standards following the First In First Out Procedures
  • Prepares and serves breakfasts and lunches; prepares main line and ala carte menus according to recipes and regulations and requirements.
  • Serves meals to students in accordance to all federal, state and local guidelines for all Child Nutrition Programs in which the school participates in
  • Prepares and processes daily paperwork; prepares deposits of money collected from sales; prepares weekly itemization of lunch, breakfast and milk counts;
  • Cleans and sanitizes kitchen areas and equipment in accordance with requirements and regulations.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Managers ServSafe Certification preferred but not required;
  • Applicable knowledge of all HACCP cafeteria criteria including but not limited to the completion of temperature logs, thermometer calibration, temperature requirements and all sanitation requirements;
  • Applicable knowledge of production record completion; Applicable knowledge of the Middletown Public Schools Inventory Control Policy and Procedure;
  • Applicable knowledge for operation of the POS cash register and reporting system;
  • Ability to follow USDA and CSDE meal pattern requirements for the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs including required serving sizes;
  • Ability to interact with children and adults in a pleasant, professional manner at all times;
  • Able to commit their attendance daily throughout the duration of the summer program as assigned;
  • Ability to lift multiple objects of 50 pounds for the duration of the scheduled shift;
  • Ability to tolerate hot temperatures/weather conditions while performing all required duties.

 

Salary: $20 Per Hour

? Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
? Ability to lift or carry objects less than thirty (30) pounds
? Ability to perform manipulative skills such as writing and typing
? Ability to see and read objects closely, as wiring, labels on equipment,
reading/proofreading a report, using a computer monitor, filing and/or
retrieving information from a filing system and verifying the accuracy of
financial information
? Ability to hear normal sounds with background noise, as in using a
telephone or radio, distinguish verbal communication and communicate
through speech, including using a radio
? Ability to learn and acquire an understanding of new information,
methodologies and techniques and how they apply to school goals and
operations
? Memory adequate to perform tasks/assignments given over long periods of
time
? Ability to concentrate on a task for more than 60 minutes
