You will be employed temporarily as a Unit Aide while you participate in this training program. Unit Aides play a vital role by supporting CNAs and assisting with non-ADL tasks.

ROLE OVERVIEW OF UNIT AIDE :
Engage positively with residents and supervise community areas as required.
Prepare resident rooms for their arrival (e.g., making beds, displaying name tags, ensuring admission kits are ready).
Welcome residents and show them to their rooms, introducing them to their roommates and staff as necessary.
Help residents feel comfortable in their new environment.
Inventory and label residents’ belongings.
Assist residents in packing their belongings when being transferred or discharged.
Transport residents to new rooms or designated areas, assisting with loading / unloading as needed.
Make beds and provide extra bedding upon request.
Support residents in getting ready for activities and social programs.
Facilitate resident transportation throughout the facility (i.e., to dining or community areas).
Assist residents with meal transportation and seating at designated tables.
Participate in dining room procedures by helping residents with handwashing and distributing beverages.
Help with meal / tray delivery and assist residents with opening containers and selecting meal options.
Support transport back to units post-meal or activity.
Assist activity staff with transport to events and programs.
Supervise residents in patio areas during pleasant weather.
Respond promptly to resident calls and ensure the right staff attends to their requests.
Obtain supplies needed for the unit.
Requirements :
No prior experience necessary; however, previous healthcare experiences such as TNA, PCA, HHA, or DSP are advantageous.
