Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all activities of the 2nd shift manufacturing team to achieve optimal production outcomes.
- Provide comprehensive training and support to team members on new and existing processes, emphasizing safety, efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
- Proactively identify and resolve production issues, ensuring timely solutions and tracking progress on complex challenges.
- Cultivate an MTPS culture where every team member is empowered to contribute to problem-solving and improvement.
- Conduct regular workstation audits to ensure adherence to documentation, setup parameters, and process conditions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing-related problems effectively.
- Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at reducing set-up and changeover times.
- Monitor and analyze production data (Hour-by-Hour charting, Operational Availability) to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement.
- Provide necessary support and assistance to all production team members.
- Utilize Standardized Work Instructions to evaluate, improve, and correct operational practices.
- Manage employee relations matters fairly and consistently, escalating significant issues to Human Resources.
- Oversee the requisition of company inventory and supplies.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for your manufacturing team.
- Clearly communicate production goals and performance expectations to the team, providing daily shift reports to the Business Unit Managers.
- Ensure effective communication and handover of critical information to the incoming supervisor.
- Promote a positive and organized work environment.
- Actively participate in lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure consistent adherence to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Equivalent to a high school education, supplemented by specialized training in Lean Operations.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various manufacturing machines and support equipment, including welders.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Completion of required harassment prevention training.
- 3-5 years of practical experience in a manufacturing/stamping environment, including die setting, welding, overhead crane, Hi-lo, and basic hand tool skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically and 30 pounds regularly.
- A meticulous approach to work and the ability to perform duties with minimal follow-up.
- Analytical skills to identify production trends and areas for improvement.
