Asset Integrity Department Manager - Position and Responsibilities

As an Asset Integrity Department Manager (DM) with Middough, you will oversee the operational control of our Asset Integrity services and programmatic work for clients. As the DM, you will also schedule field work, review deliverables, send deliverables to clients, and management team performance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct team members to the successful completion of projects.
  • Build and maintain key client relationships.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and project estimates for new projects.
  • Participate in the scheduling project staff utilization and needs.
  • Coach and develop team members using best practices, performance management, supportive behavior, and training tools.
  • Collaborate with senior management in coordinating work for projects.
  • Take an active role as needed in support of business development activities.
  • Coordinate and track fieldwork with client contacts and report writing.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper tracking of company owned equipment.
  • Procure safety supplies and personal protective equipment.
  • Track projects to ensure schedule and budgets are maintained.
  • Oversee logistics of equipment required for each project.
  • Ensure procedures and processes are up to date and adhered to.
  • Support field work as required when resources are limited.

Education, Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or related field required.
  • 10 years of experience in engineering and technical design required.
  • 10 years of direct people management experience required.
  • Experience working in heavy industrial environment and marketplace exposure preferred.
  • Licensure, certification, and / or experience with the following preferred :
  • OSHA 10 / 30-hour certification

  • MSHA Part 46 / 48 certification
  • TWIC card
  • Aerial lift training / certification
  • Confined space training and competency
  • Non-destructive testing experience (UTT, PT, MT, VT)
  • API 510, 570 and 653 knowledge / certification
  • Knowledge of IBC, AISC, ASCE, ASME, and API codes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize multiple assignments, complex assignments, and competing priorities to produce quality reports and results.
  • Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and / or foundation design.
  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficient with design and business enterprise software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities for project efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements

    The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.   • Frequently walk up to and more than 10,000 steps per day, reach with hands and arms, climb several flights of stairs per day, ladder ascending and descending, balance, stoop or kneel, bend / twist, and use repeating motions that may include the wrists / hands / fingers.
  • Must have the ability to hear and speak at all times.
  • Subject to confined space entries and non-confined space work requiring bending, reaching, climbing with inspection tools, harnesses, and lanyards.
  • Frequent use of hand tools including but not limited to hammers, wire brushes, tape measures, etc.
  • Infrequent ability to move up to 50 pounds and frequent ability to move up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequently use up-close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Should not expect adverse environmental conditions within company offices.
  • May be exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as climbing ladders and / or stairs, extreme heat and / or cold, and / or poor air quality) if or when on-site at a client facility. Safety protections to be provided by the client and / or company and are required to be used and followed.
  • May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
  • This position requires the candidate / employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence.
