Shipping Manager Summary
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in managing daily distribution operations, implementing
policies, and driving employee development. This role oversees all aspects of distribution activities, ensuring
efficiency in warehouse design, process flow, and inventory control. The Shipping Manager will play a key
role in policy formulation and execution, working closely with leadership and directing teams to optimize
performance. A strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Improvement: Evaluate and implement distribution process enhancements that improve
productivity, customer service, and reduce operational costs, focusing on warehouse design, product flow,
and distribution management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with customer service, production, quality control, sales, and other departments to address systemic issues, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Implement policies related to slow-moving, obsolete, and cycle-counting. Ensure compliance with inventory audit processes and fill-rate targets.
- Metrics and Reporting: Manage daily metrics and drive corrective action plans for performance improvement to meet goals.
- leadership and Team Development: Lead a motivated team through effective hiring, training, coaching, and performance management. Foster a positive work environment.
- Customer-focused Operations: Ensure rapid response to customer needs, supporting effective staffing and operations coordination. Address operational challenges impacting service effectiveness.
