The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, passionate professional with a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to train on garage door installation, which is an important and unique aspect of this role. Additionally, the candidate will have a proven ability to build and implement workforce development programs from the ground up. This role requires someone who excels at communication, relationship-building, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth, both internally and externally.

Summary:       
This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing workforce development programs aimed at developing internal employees and employees of our valued customers.

Essential Duties:
  1. Design, implement, and manage training programs tailored to enhance employee skills and meet the professional development needs of internal employees as well as customer employees.
  2. Ensure all training content aligns with Midland’s goals, values, and policies while incorporating industry best practices and innovative learning techniques.
  3. Lead and facilitate training sessions, ensuring content is engaging, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals and customer needs.
  4. Train employees on effective communication strategies, handling customer inquiries, troubleshooting, and offering solutions for customers’ garage door needs.
  5. Provide technical training on garage door systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  6. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards in all training programs.
  7. Collaborate with leadership and HR to assess current and future workforce needs.
  8. Foster continuous learning, career growth, and improve workforce effectiveness.
  9. Conduct training needs assessments in collaboration with department managers and key stakeholders to identify skill gaps and development priorities.
  10. Work closely with internal teams and customer representatives to customize training programs that align with both company and customer goals.
  11. Evaluate and track progress to measure the effectiveness of training and adjust as needed to meet objectives.
  12. Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with customer organizations to ensure training programs are meeting their needs.
  13. Establish measurable goals for training programs and track employee performance to assess the success of training initiatives.
  14. Prepare reports for leadership highlighting training outcomes, engagement metrics, and recommendations for further development.
  15. Stay current with industry trends, new training methodologies, and emerging technologies to continuously improve training programs.
  16. Seek opportunities to improve training methods and enhance the overall learning experience for both internal and customer employees.
  17. Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.

Marginal Duties:
  1. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Competencies Required:
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs for both internal and external audiences.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse group of employees and customers.
  • Strong understanding of garage doors, including installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training tools.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and environments (virtual, in-person, hybrid).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about workforce development.
  • Contribute to a culture of cooperation and teamwork within and between all departments companywide – provide assistance as needed with a can-do attitude.
  • A skilled communicator. Listens first and speaks second. Thinks about the message they deliver before they say/send it and how the message could be interpreted.
  • Ability to work closely with senior management.
  • Excellent time management abilities and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Takes pride in work and has a strong attention to detail.

Education and Experience: 
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in workforce development, training, or employee development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties as listed above.
