PAY GRADE: Tech PG-5

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid Texas Teaching Certification
- Valid Texas Driver's License
EXPERIENCE:
Five years prior experience in teaching staff. K-12 experience preferred.
SUPERVISES: None.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under supervision of the Director of Instructional Technology, provides staff development training and technical support (on and off campus) for teachers on software and hardware systems being implemented in the classroom and district-wide.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Familiarity with current state technology requirements and standards (TEKS)
- Applied knowledge of current computer systems, networking, and operating systems.
- Applied knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and communications software, etc.
- Current in knowledge of technological trends
- Skill in presenting training and workshops
- Ability to work well with other people at all levels and backgrounds
- Must be reliable, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to organize and coordinate training at different locations in the district. (Both in-person and online)
Terms of Employment: According to district approved calendar
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Management
- Direct training of adults in district technology systems, both individually and in groups.
- Staff support for implementing technology within instruction.
- Assisting with instructional technology training resources (e.g. handouts, videos)
- Report on status of assignments and projects to Supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Instructional Technology
EQUIPMENT USED:
Help Desk system software either hosted internally or by a third-party will need to be configured and maintained.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Emotional – Maintain emotional control under stress
Physical – Moderate carrying and lifting.
Standing, sitting, walking, use of fingers, eyes and ears
Environment – Inside normal office environment
