Job Description
This role acts as support for Respiratory Therapists. This role will also work independently performing certain procedures when that procedure does not require a patient assessment (EKG’s, stress tests, equipment delivery and processing etc.). Responsible for meeting the established standards for the administration of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary care as well as appropriate documentation of activities related to that care. Manages supplies and equipment and any assigned personnel. Responsible for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. Responsible for solving practical problems, dealing with a variety of issues and interpreting a variety of instruction furnished in written or oral form. Demonstrates clinical knowledge and judgment regarding patient care.

Essential Functions/Performance Expectations
- Maintains current knowledge of Hospital policies and procedures.
- Provides accurate, timely and complete documentation in respect to plan of care, assessment and other patient care documentation.
- Works effectively with Departmental/Hospital computer systems.
- Demonstrates age specific competence in caring for patients from various age groups.
- Incorporates continuous performance improvement recommendations into clinical practice.
- High school diploma
- Clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred but not required

- Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
