- Teaching a variety of lower- and upper-level criminal justice courses, based on expertise and departmental need
- Engaging students with innovative teaching practices
- Developing and implementing curriculum based on student and profession needs
- Measuring and analyzing program outcomes for continuous improvement
- Partnering across the university for student recruiting, retention, and graduation
- Creating performance and program goals with continuous reflection and a willingness to accept feedback
- PhD in Criminal Justice or a related discipline
- Experience teaching a variety of criminal justice courses
- Commitment to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students
- The ability to create dynamic and relevant learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom by continuously seeking and applying new, relevant information and ideas.
- A genuine interest in student development as it relates to mentoring for internships, employment and graduate study
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster a collegial work environment that encourages change and innovation; and an ability to interact effectively and work productively, cooperatively, and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups
