Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice

Midland University is seeking an exceptional faculty member for a full-time criminal justice position beginning August 2025.

Duties Include

• Teaching a variety of lower- and upper-level criminal justice courses, based on expertise and departmental need
• Engaging students with innovative teaching practices
• Developing and implementing curriculum based on student and profession needs
• Measuring and analyzing program outcomes for continuous improvement
• Partnering across the university for student recruiting, retention, and graduation
• Creating performance and program goals with continuous reflection and a willingness to accept feedback
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following

• PhD in Criminal Justice or a related discipline
• Experience teaching a variety of criminal justice courses
• Commitment to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students
• The ability to create dynamic and relevant learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom by continuously seeking and applying new, relevant information and ideas.
• A genuine interest in student development as it relates to mentoring for internships, employment and graduate study
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to foster a collegial work environment that encourages change and innovation; and an ability to interact effectively and work productively, cooperatively, and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups
