Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes according to the restaurant's menu and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to food handling guidelines.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as needed to meet high culinary standards.
- Assist in catering events as required, providing exceptional service and quality food preparation.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
- Keep the kitchen area clean and organized, following all health regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation techniques.
- Experience in food preparation, meal planning, and menu development is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and the ability to accommodate special requests from guests.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods related to sushi making.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
