Job Purpose:
The Regional Ag Manager is responsible for overseeing lending, sales, customer service and staffing of the of the Regional Ag department. This role manages operations and maximizes profitability by expanding and developing ag and commercial business banking relationships over a 5-state area. The Regional Ag Manager serves as the Chief Lending Officer for the Regional Ag Team and is member of the Executive Loan Officer Committee. The Regional Ag Manager will perform assigned duties in accordance with Midstates Bank's Core Values and will adhere to the Quality Service Standard.
Essential Functions:
Develops and solicits prospective and existing ag and commercial client relationships that meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to the Bank at minimum risk.
Maintains and grows a loan and deposit portfolio. Responsible for credit quality and Regional Ag deposit growth.
Comprehensive knowledge of loan policy and provides suggestions to management as needed.
Understands and navigates analysis software and overall credit culture at Midstates Bank.
Reviews, audits, modifies, and prepares a variety of operational and financial reports, credit analysis, and general correspondence within required timeframes.
Assists officers with performing visits and reporting collateral inspections.
Knowledge of FSA and Farmer Mac applications.
Active participation in the Executive Loan Officer Committee to approve loans and/or present loans that exceed CLO limits.
Recruits, selects, trains, motivates, coaches and develops Regional Ag Team; completes and conducts performance appraisals; acts as final authority for issue resolution that pertains to Regional Ag activities.
Oversees Regional Ag sales, operations, and service processes and procedures to maximize customer service, staff productivity, and operational efficiencies while overseeing cross-selling efforts of Regional Ag staff.
Ensures staff compliance with all Bank regulations, requirements, policies and procedures.
Achieves and/or exceeds established Regional Ag performance and personal production goals; ensures that staff members meet established sales goals.
Receives and resolves routine and/or difficult customer issues and inquiries.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
Knowledge of effective customer service methods and sales practices.
Ability to manage, lead and train a team to achieve desired results.
Ability to solve a wide variety of practical and customer service problems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to speak before groups of bank customers and employees.
Ability to read and interpret a variety of documents and reports including statistical information.
Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations, including computation of ratios, percentages, and payments.
Strong knowledge of:
Banking regulations, policies and procedures
Bank operations, products and services
Underwriting software; specifically WebEquity
Human resources management- policy and practices
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent; preferred agriculture, finance, business administration or related field.
Experience:
15 years of banking experience: at least 5 years in agriculture sales
10 years of management experience
