Job Summary :
The Dental Program Coordinator provides oversight, monitoring, and coordination of daily dental operations and staffing for the mobile dental unit. This role is also responsible for managing day-to-day activities related to infection prevention and control.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Dental Assistants and Support Staff working on the Mobile Dental Unit.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Plans, implements, and monitors mobile dental unit operations to ensure success of the program.
- Oversees the process for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating operations of the mobile dental unit.
- Is the main point of contact for facilities and patients interested in utilizing mobile dental services -coordinates the schedule with various facilities within MHC’s service area and ensures required paperwork is complete prior to mobile dental unit arriving onsite.
- Collects and post payments in the patient management system. Reviews balances and closes daily walk-outs for accurate claim submissions and account balances in regard to the mobile dental unit.
- Monitors Dentrix reports for mobile dental unit.
- Provides case management services for patients / guardians to help gain access and understanding of dental care.
- Coordinates all dental activities related to infection prevention and control, including implementation and maintenance of the sterilization process to meet compliance standards.
- Assists with annual and quarterly dental infection control logs; develops and plans processes based on risk assessment results to reduce risks that may pose threats to patients and the community.
- Works with the Infection Prevention and Control Officer, the Safety Committee, and the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee as needed to review, develop, and plan dental activities based on risk assessment results, giving priority to threats that pose the greatest threat to patients and the community.
- Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and results.
- Maintains clinic flow via room turn-around which includes sterilization, stocking, and cleaning.
- Provides assistance, support, and relief to other dental team members with clinical, administrative, clerical, or business duties.
- Assists in maintaining an efficient, safe, secure, orderly, and aseptic environment of care for all patients and employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Duties 1 through 13 are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed at the appropriate level. All other job duties are secondary functions.
