We are looking for a Sr. New Product Development Engineer for a product development role with a leading portable fuel container manufacturer.  The incumbent will report directly to the New Product Development and Product Manager.   The Sr. New Product Development Engineer is responsible for the project coordination, planning, and research required to identify and introduce new products and business opportunities.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project manages all aspects of the project including tooling quotes, drawings, project schedule, testing, tooling approval, costed bill of materials, etc.
  • Coordinate projects tasks with other team members for packaging development, marketing, samples for photography and customer demos. 
  • Utilizes stage gate project structure to track timelines, project plans, tasks, team responsibilities, and status reporting.
  • Convey weekly progress via project schedule status updates.
  • Oversee the review of new product concepts and the decision-making process required for new product introduction and rollout.
  • Achieve project objectives per target dates

Education and Work Experience Requirements
  • Experience leading new product development projects.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
  • Product development, and/or process engineering in plastic manufacturing experience
     preferred.
  • Basic CAD experience in AutoCAD or Solid Works, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Teams is preferred. 
  • 5-7 years experience as an engineer is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)
