What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Practice Nurse position at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute?
Nature of Duties:
The APP collaborates with physicians to assess, diagnose, implement, and evaluate patient care within the scope of Illinois State Board of Nursing regulations. The APP provides comprehensive care, formulates diagnoses, orders treatments, and evaluates care effectiveness, while working independently within legal and collaborative practice frameworks.
Specific Duties:
- Perform health histories, physicals, and daily progress notes.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Formulate diagnoses and adjust treatment plans based on evaluations.
- Provide patient education and manage chronic conditions.
- Assist with procedures and emergency measures as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation in medical records.
- Participate in quality assurance, research, and education activities.
- Lead patient care initiatives and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Stay current with clinical guidelines and continuing education.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing or related field.
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the Illinois State Board of Nursing.
- National certification in advanced practice nursing.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- EKG course completion within 12 months.
- Strong communication skills and cardiology knowledge or willingness to learn.
Compensation: Starting Salary of $110,000. Salary will commensurate with experience.
