What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telemetry Technician- MCI position at Midwest Cardiovascular Institute?
NATURE OF DUTIES:
MCI is a private cardiology practice focused on monitoring outpatients with mobile cardiac telemetry monitors for abnormal cardiac rhythms, including critical alerts. Duties include generating summary reports, communicating findings to providers, and processing Holter monitor results. Additional responsibilities involve handling device information between MCI clinics and providers.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
- High school diploma or GED required
- NCCT - NCET, CCT or CRAT certification recommended
- 2 yrs of experience in the Cardiology field preferred
- Preferred completion of certified medical program (LPN, MA, Telemetry, etc.)
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Telemetry Services
- Process, analyze, interpret, and edit EKG data from wearable outpatient Mobile Telemetry/Holter monitors placed on MCI patients.
- Utilize established protocols and notification guidelines to recognize cardiac rhythm abnormalities/symptoms and clearly communicate with MCI providers.
- Possess good communication skills and facilitates open dialogue with MCI offices/providers, and patients regarding critical, serious, or non-critical events.
- Act as an educational resource for MCI clinical and non-clinical personnel, administration, providers, and patients regarding services and monitor utilization.
- Participate and facilitate as needed notification of Emergency Services for patient safety and to improve patient outcomes when Critical rhythm disturbances are identified, and patient contact cannot be established.
- Accurately documents actions/implementation/plan of care/patient responses for completion within the EHR/medical record.
- Works closely with Business Services department to assure and facilitate billing services is complete, timely, and accurate.
