Summary

As an Admissions Specialist at Midwest Career Source, you will play a pivotal role in guiding prospective students through the admissions process. This position is essential in helping individuals embark on their journey towards a rewarding career in health care, aligning with our commitment to educational excellence and student success.

Responsibilities

  • Guide prospective students through the admissions process, providing information about programs and requirements.
  • Conduct interviews and assessments to evaluate student eligibility and fit for programs.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract potential students.
  • Collaborate with academic advisors to ensure a smooth transition for new students into their programs.
  • Organize and participate in outreach events to promote vocational training opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and admissions data for reporting purposes.
  • Provide support and resources to students throughout the admissions process.
  • Engage in public speaking opportunities to represent the institution at various events.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably within vocational training or higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of academic advising principles and practices.
  • Excellent public speaking skills for effective communication during presentations and outreach activities.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian or similar student information systems is a plus.
  • Experience in recruiting or admissions processes is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to build rapport with prospective students and guide them through decision-making processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks efficiently.
