Dermatology Nurse

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic dermatology team. As a key member of our clinic, you will be responsible for providing high-quality direct patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a positive, efficient, and safe experience for our patients in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Patient Care: Provide nursing assessments, including patient history, vital signs, and skin assessments prior to physician examination.
• Procedure Assistance: Assist dermatologists with various in-office procedures, such as biopsies, excisions, and mohs procedures.
• Patient Education: Educate patients on skin care practices, post-procedure care, and prescribed treatments. Provide information on medications, wound care, and prevention of skin conditions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, documenting assessments, treatments, and patient interactions.
• Triage & Communication: Answer patient calls, assess symptoms, and provide advice or direct patients to appropriate care. Respond to inquiries and follow up on care plans.
• Clinical Support: Ensure all instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use. Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians and administrative staff to provide seamless patient care in a busy, multi-tasking environment.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in dermatology, outpatient, or fast-paced clinical settings.
• Strong knowledge of dermatological conditions, treatments, and procedures is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients in an understandable manner.
• Ability to thrive in a high-energy environment while providing excellent patient care and maintaining a calm demeanor.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional certifications
