Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled Electrical Worker who has a good attitude, work ethic and ability to learn to take their career to the next level. This candidate will be a journeyman electrician, relay technician, electrical engineer or other similar hands-on electrical worker who possesses a strong background in industrial electrical systems, is proficient in using computers and is a safe worker. This role minimally requires hands-on experience with working on or installing industrial electrical equipment (at least up to 480V, 15kV preferred) and the ability to learn new software. This position's primary purpose is to collect electrical system data at customers' facilities to be used for power system studies such as arc-flash, but with further training, will be able to perform more advanced tasks such as commissioning high voltage relays. The ideal candidate would have experience with PLCs or protection relays, project management experience, been in a leadership role directing work of other electrical workers, has the ability to market services to new customers and is savvy with computers.
Responsibilities
- Collect and model electrical system data from various facilities to be used for arc-flash studies.
- Use electrical modeling software to model new facilities with the use of drawings, submittals and other customer provided information.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and relay commissioning in industrial facilities.
- Install protective and monitoring equipment at customer facilities.
- Represent and market services provided by the company to potential customers.
- Assist in the training of junior technicians on best practices and safety measures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Industrial Electrician or similar role.
- Ability to use computers and learn new software
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to high voltage work.
- Work from home office once capable of providing service on their own. Office should be within 1-hour of South Haven, KS.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
- Occasional, short duration, travel outside a 2-hour radius
- Employee will have significant input in determining work schedule
- Other duties as assigned
