Founded 30 years ago, Midwest Equipment Company is an industry leading distributor of quality commercial food service equipment, including Taylor soft serve freezers, slush machines and grills, Flavorburst, Broaster Pressure Fryers and Smokaroma cooking equipment. We are based in Fenton, MO (St. Louis suburb) with 42 technicians across our five-state territory: Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Northwest Arkansas.
Are you ready to play a key role in keeping commercial kitchen equipment running smoothly? We're looking for a detail-oriented, energetic Shop Assistant to support our on-site technicians with the maintenance, cleaning, and prep of equipment-especially ice cream and slush machines! In this role, you'll help ensure all machines are in top working condition, spotless, and ready to go before they head back to our clients. If you're quick, efficient, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear for you!
What we offer:
- Starting rate: $17/hr. - $19/hr. based on experience
- Great Schedule: Monday - Friday days, 7:00am - 3:30pm - No Weekends!

Ideal Candidate:
- High School diploma or GED. Technical or Trade School a plus.
- Previous experience working as a technician or technician assistant strongly desired. Warehouse experience is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform preventative maintenance.
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective time management.
- Willingness to take on additional tasks and contribute to the team's success.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, knew and bend for extended periods.
- Capable of working in varying temperature conditions.
