Construction Laborer

Assist Equipment Operators in the completion of a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to; grading, utility installation, demolition & tree removal, creek & channel stabilization/rehabilitation, and erosion control installation.

These tasks include, but may not be limited to;

• Use of hand tools such as shovels and rakes to assist with grading
• Checking grade and directing operators on necessary adjustments using hand signals
• Assisting Operators with pipe laying and connections
• Operating a variety of saws to cut cut concrete, pipe, trees, and other materials
• Assisting with form setting, rebar tying, and placing of concrete
• Operating Compaction equipment such as jumping jack, sand plate, walk behind and ride on rollers

Requirements:

• Follow instructions and work safely with others to complete work in a timely manner
• Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, brooms, and hammers
• Ability to safely operate tools such as saws, quickie saw, hammer drill, jack hammer, concrete saws, chain saws, power brooms and compaction equipment
• Proficient reading, writing, and math skills; the ability to take measurements with tape measures and grade rods, add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Physical ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and work in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more
• Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record
• Must be able to effectively communicate and work with others
• Ability to work long hours as necessary to complete work on time. Typical work week is 7-5, M-F, but longer hours are sometimes required depending on the project and site conditions
