Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing medical coding and billing operations while maintaining accurate financial records. This dual-role position ensures seamless revenue cycle management and financial accountability, playing a crucial part in our organization's success.
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Coding and Billing:
- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses in compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
- Submit and process insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursements.
- Review and resolve claim denials or discrepancies with insurance providers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, billing regulations, and payer requirements.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
Bookkeeping:
- Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Generate and analyze financial reports for management review.
- Assist in budget preparation and expense tracking.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Certification in medical coding and billing (e.g., CPC, CCA) is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, insurance processes, and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and team members.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical coding and billing and bookkeeping.
