Duties
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on biological specimens to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the integrity of samples and prevent contamination.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Manage laboratory information management systems for accurate data entry and retrieval.
- Process specimens efficiently while adhering to established laboratory procedures.
- Perform blood banking procedures, including typing, cross-matching, and component preparation.
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and other methods as required.
- Analyze data from tests to provide accurate results for clinicians.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
Skills
- Proficient in clinical laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques to maintain sample integrity.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Ability to perform various laboratory procedures with precision.
- Familiarity with flow cytometry and other advanced testing methods is advantageous.
- Skills in laboratory management practices for efficient workflow.
- Competence in specimen collection processing, ensuring proper handling and storage.
