POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
· Manages all advertising, posting, resume searching as determined by recruiting strategy.
· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
· Implements new hire orientation and ensures paperwork is completed.
· Assigns and assists with Pork Quality Assurance for any Swine employees.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations with guidance from Director of Human Resources.
· Assists Director of Human Resources in performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, check- ins, training and development.
· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
· Develops and enforces OSHA policies (e.g., accident reporting process).
· Complete annual OSHA reports.
· Manage accident investigation procedures and workers’ compensation claims.
· Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· 25-30% travel required to our five office locations in the Midwest
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Proficient in MS Office
· Strict adherence to confidentiality is a must.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
· Understanding of the Agriculture Industry preferred.
· At least one year of human resource experience required.
· SHRM-CP a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
