Job Title: Material Handler (Shipping & Receiving
Shifts: (1) Sunday - Thursday 7am - 3pm, (1) 6am-6pm (3 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off), (2) 6pm-6am (3 on, 3 off, 2 on, 2 off)
Salary Range: $21.00 - $28.00/hour (Varies by shift )
Position:
The individual in this role is responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing materials, along with the associated paperwork, meet the required quality inspection standards in compliance with SQF.
Essential Functions:
- Inspect and verify materials and associated documentation based on purchase orders, sales orders, or contract specifications, identifying any nonconformance or omissions.
- Ensure outgoing shipments are properly packaged, preserved, and compliant with SQF standards.
- Operate both stand-up and sit-down reach forklifts.
- Use the sit-down forklift to load and unload trucks.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and multitasking ability.
- Maintain efficiency with a strong desire to succeed.
- Scan materials into the warehouse or place them in the correct locations.
- Organize materials coming off trucks to make room for additional items before unloading.
- Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Identify, report, and resolve safety issues.
Shipping/Receiving Specific:
- Verify products and quantities against packing slips and bills of lading.
- Inspect for any damaged goods.
- Deliver and retrieve supplies between work or storage areas.
- Keep the dock area clean and organized.
- Ensure all required reports and paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Material Handler Specific:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of internal processes and how to support them.
- Stock inventory on shelves and in overstock locations.
- Maintain a clean production environment.
- Assist other departments (Production, Fulfillment, Quality) as needed.

Work Environment:
The role primarily takes place in a climate-controlled facility, but the plant floor may have vibration, equipment noise, and cleaning solvents, contributing to a loud environment. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside conditions, tight spaces, and heights may also occur.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this role are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions successfully. These include:
- Continuous physical activity (bending, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, lifting, grasping) for 6 hours per day.
- Frequent talking, listening, and repetitive motion (hand/wrist movement).
- Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.
- Occasional stooped positions for 1 to 3 hours per day.
- Good eyesight and normal hearing.
- Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, with workdays, nights, and hours varying based on the assigned shift and production needs. Additional hours beyond the regular workday may be required due to business cycles or customer demands.

No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Proficient in reading and writing English.
- Ability to understand and follow safety protocols.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Competence in preparing routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Physical ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
- Ability to detect issues and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Capable of multitasking in production operations.
Licenses and Certifications:
Forklift, reach truck, etc., preferred.
