Position Overview: One of our partners is a growing Architectural Metal, Glass, and Glazing company seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join their dynamic machine operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing metal components per customer specifications, utilizing your knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, machining procedures, and blueprints/layouts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Press Brake machines using part drawings and bend simulations.
- Perform precise inspections using various measuring and gauging tools.
- Calculate and configure bend allowances for sheet metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and regular steel.
- Ensure proper machine calibration and cleanliness.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints and drawings to prepare components for bending operations.
- Conduct spot inspections to ensure quality and accuracy of parts.
- Execute forming operations with both standard and custom punches.
- Adhere to customer tolerances and specifications to ensure product quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on Press Brake machines as necessary.
- Program the Press Brake with complex features, ensuring optimal performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience with Press Brake operation and layout, preferably in an Architectural Metals Fabrication setting.
- Programming Skills: Must have hands-on experience with Press Brake programming.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read, analyze, and understand blueprints and independently lay out parts for the machine.
- Physical Requirements: Steel-toe boots required; pre-employment drug screening.
- Personal Traits: Energetic, dependable, with strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Hours:
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 5:00 am - 3:30 pm (with possible overtime on Fridays).
