As a Technical Engineer, you will serve as the go-to expert for a specific engineering discipline, ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest professional standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze design documents, including calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and installation packages, to ensure construction activities meet project requirements.
- Coordinate with the construction team on monthly progress and ensure technical objectives are met.
- Prepare Requests for Information (RFIs) to address technical issues and drive solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to CAD Designers, Drafters, Engineers, and other team members.
- Review and evaluate supplier drawings, shop drawings, and field requests for information to resolve issues.
- Conduct periodic on-site construction inspections to address structural issues and ensure quality.
- Revise and review temporary works developed by others, such as girder erection and formworks.
- Ensure as-built information aligns with the final construction solutions on-site.
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive knowledge in design and engineering principles, including reviewing calculations, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD, and Blue Beam.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with management, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within time constraints.
- Knowledge of relevant local, state, and national regulations and guidelines.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Technical Engineering from an accredited program.
- 8 years of experience in technical engineering, with at least 2 years working in a contractor’s technical department.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Blue Beam, and other engineering software.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with some fieldwork for on-site inspections.
- Occasional exposure to environmental factors such as temperature, dust, and noise.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to remain stationary for long periods.
- Capable of using office equipment and keyboards.
- Ability to lift or move objects up to 15 pounds.
