General Job Purpose:
The RCM Business Analyst is a diverse support role that is responsible for maintaining the billing software systems, managing data retrieval and analysis within the RCM operation.They collaborate with all areas of the business to define and implement reporting packages and tasks related to RCM functional areas. This role is responsible for formulating and executing effective reporting procedures, ensuring that data is accurate, timely and aligned with business objectives.
What You Will Be Working On:
Performance
- Implement comprehensive analytical solutions to provide valuable insights critical in the data-driven decision-making process
- Work with department leadership to identify reporting needs that will allow them to set, formalize and execute strategy
- Optimizes system functionality through the analysis of standard and customized reporting to monitor the effectiveness of quality and performance improvement outcomes
- Maintains the integrity of the billing systems, serving as the primary change owner of any updates or modifications
- Drives reporting enhancements to enhance self service tools for RCM Leaders while reducing the manual engagement needed for report generation
- Ensure timely escalation to appropriate RCM and MVP leadership of issues identified
Communication and Working Relationships
- Works cross-functionally to develop and manage an efficient and effective RCM process
- Responds to inquiries from leadership, Operations, staff or physicians in a timely and appropriate manner
- Shares metric performance with RCM leadership to educate and create foundation for continuous process improvement
- Coordinate communication to assigned staff on productivity standards, quality standards, policies and procedures as well as corporate standards
- Partners with Accounting and Finance to ensure consistency in reporting with specific focus on the revenue recognition process
Expertise
- Actively understands payer and regulatory trends with the ability to develop strategies with appropriate leaders to activate tactics to mitigate risks
- Remains current with governmental, payer and organizational policy changes applicable to all states in which services are provided
Other
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Knowledge
- 5 years of progressive responsibility in data management or analytics in a healthcare setting
- Ability to deal with a variety of tasks simultaneously in a face-paced environment
- Manage priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Demonstrate sound judgment and leadership skills
Education and Skills
- High School diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred in areas of business or information technology
- Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suiteswith advanced Excel capabilities
- Multi EMR and clearinghouse experience preferred
